How do I join the meeting?
The meeting link was e-mailed/mailed to registered active members of the London Muslim Mosque. Every active member of the Mosque has received the link to join the meeting. Here are the steps to join the meeting: 1) Click on the link which will take you to a registration page 2) Enter your full name and e-mail address and click 'Register' 3) A link to join the actual meeting will be sent to your e-mail 4) Open your e-mail and click on the meeting's link 5) The host of the meeting will allow you to join the meeting. This could take a couple of minutes so please be patient. 6) Once you are in the meeting, please note that everyone will be muted and you can only participate through chat with the host.
Who can vote in the meeting?
Registered active members of the London Muslim Mosque with good standing can vote and attend. Those who cannot attend can appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf.
What are we voting on in the meeting ?
We are voting to approve the purchase of the property at 125 Woodward avenue to use as an expansion for the London Muslim Mosque/London Islamic School/Weekend London Islamic School/Qur'an Hifth Program.
How can I confirm that I’m a member?
If I am participating in the meeting with another person, can we each vote?
The other member would need to login using a different device as only one vote is allowed per attendee. Those who hold proxy forms will be allowed to vote twice for those who appointed them as proxies.
How do I proxy my vote?
The person you appointed as a proxy will get a link to cast the vote on your behalf during the meeting.
When will the vote take place?
The vote will take place after the presentation of the details of the purchase and members are given a chance to ask their questions.
What if I join the meeting too late?
You can still caste your vote even if you are too late. However, after the voting is closed no more votes will be accepted.
What if I don’t have access to the internet?
The meeting will be held online due to COVID-19 restrictions. Internet connection is required to attend the meeting.
How do you vote?
A poll with the resolution that members can agree, disagree or abstain will be displayed on your screen and you vote by clicking on one option.
What is the number of members to achieve quorum? What if there isn’t quorum met?
The number needed is at least 89 members. Under the by-laws, if 20% quorum is not met in the first 20 minutes, the AGM is cancelled.
